#DailyDevotion Why Are You Afraid Of The NWO?

Psalm 2 Why are the nations getting together so noisily and the people plotting so uselessly? 2The kings of the earth are taking their stand, and the rulers are planning together, against the LORD and His Anointed, saying: 3“Let us tear their ropes in pieces and throw their cords away.”

Sometimes we may think, “Boy, Satan must be pretty stupid to have rebelled against the LORD. How could he think he could ever win?” Well, he’s passed that stupidity to mankind as well. The kings of the earth and its mighty men think they can rebel against their Maker and his anointed (Jesus) as well. We see this after the flood and the people instead of dispersing and filling the earth build a tower in defiance of the LORD. Well that didn’t work out too well for them. That same spirit runs throughout the ages with every world dominating empire. It is the spirit of Babylon. It is foretold to Daniel in his book and we see it particularly in the book of Revelation.

In Rev. 13 it is revealed, “6He was allowed to speak arrogant and blasphemous things and was given authority to act for 42 months. He opened his mouth to slander God, His name, His home and those who live in heaven. 7He was allowed to fight with the holy people and to conquer them and was given authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation.” Because this spirit in the world hates the LORD and the anointed, it also hates those who love Him and serve Him. But it is not enough to sacrifice God’s people. The kings and the people of the earth will rise up directly against Jesus as we see in chapter 16 of Revelation, “14They were spirits of demons who were doing miracles. They went out to the kings of the whole world to gather them for war on the great day of the Almighty God…16The spirits gathered the kings at the place the Jews call Armageddon.” In chapter 17 Revelation pictures it again, “14They will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb, and the called, chosen, and faithful people with Him, will conquer them because He is the Lord of lords and the King of kings.” Finally, in Rev. 19 we see it again, “19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to fight against the Rider on the horse and His army.”

We should not be afraid of them. We, people of the LORD Jesus Christ, should not fear any one world government. We should not fear the Antichrist, the Beasts, or any manifestation of this spirit of Babylon which seeks the unification of the peoples of the earth against the LORD and His Anointed. As we see in Rev. 17:14 tells us the Lamb and his people conquer them. The rest of chapter 19 of Revelation describes Jesus’ conquering of them. Rev. 20 depicts again, not only his defeat of the kings of the earth and Satan himself (mind you these are not different battles but several depictions of this battle).

But for now we have to deal with this spirit in our lives. Jesus had to deal with it when he faced the opposition for the Pharisees and Sadducees. You may remember the parable of the vineyard he told against them. Just as sure and swift was the destruction of Jerusalem in response to their rebellion against the LORD’s anointed so they could maintain power, so too, every gathering against Christ and his Church will meet defeat for the LORD Jesus Christ reigns at the right hand of the Father. Their fighting against his Church and Himself is futile. The cannot and will not win. For that we should give him our thanks and praise.

Almighty God and Father, you have set your son Jesus Christ as King of Creation at your right hand. May his reign at your right hand give us comfort and strength when the waves and commotion of the world frightens us. Preserve us in this faith until you reveal yourself to the nations. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
